Why a spoken word tour?

I have been involved in hardcore and punk rock for more than half my life, and what inspires me more than anything is when hardcore expands beyond the singlaongs and stagedives, into meaning and transformation for people. And not just inside the shows. What happens when we take the ideas we’ve found in hardcore, outside of the show…to the people in our lives who aren’t fortunate enough to experience (or for that matter even like!) the incredible nature of the music we love so much? That’s where the real essence of punk rock exists. And that’s where any and all of us can change lives.

The main focus of each night will be about taking the passion we experience in the hardcore scene out into the world. Hardcore ends if we leave that passion at the door.

We feel so alive inside the shows, but what happens when we leave the show at the end of the night? Is it back to the grind? That actually is where the real work begins. Hardcore itself is intense, and real, but the rest of the world needs the experience even more than we do. Through personal stories, tour stories, and reflections on hardcore, this tour will tap into that part of hardcore which is the idea of positive change thru a self-empowerment perspective. It’s the core of grassroots organizing and artistic inspiration.

This is passion inspiring not just more music, but more life.
